THE BITE follows the lives of two neighbors Rachel (Audra McDonald, The Good Fight) and Lily (Taylor Schilling, Orange is the New Black) as they embark on unprecedented times when a deadly new strain of a virus arrives. Navigating the new normal in New York City, Rachel works from home juggling her many telemedicine clients and a shaky marriage to her husband Dr. Zach (Steven Pasquale, The Comey Rule) who has a prestigious job at the CDC miles away in Washington D.C. Meanwhile, Lily is upstairs trying to convince her Wall Street clientele that her very specific skillset is still just as valuable through a video screen as it was in person.

Audra McDonald talks about her new sci-fi series ‘The Bite’Six-time Tony winner Audra McDonald of “The Good Fight” joins the 3rd Hour of TODAY to talk about her new project: “The Bite,” a sci-fi series about a deadly new strain of the coronavirus pandemic. She says she plays a doctor practicing telemedicine who discovers that “some of her patients are turning into zombies.” She also talks about the challenges of making the show during the pandemic and the return of live shows on Broadway.

If COVID Isn’t Scary Enough, Robert and Michelle King Add Zombies and Deliver ‘The Bite’Five years ago, Michelle and Robert King created and executive produced a political satire entitled “BrainDead,” in which extraterrestrial insects began to crawl inside the ears of government officials and begin to take control of their words and actions. Since then, the prolific television scribes watched as science became politicized, especially amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and despite already having two ongoing drama series (“Evil” and “The Good Fight” for Paramount Plus) to run, they were inspired to step back into the world of satire with “The Bite.”
